The rooster is no longer fight. It is totem. It is sun. Triangles that are comb, a circle that is body and moon, a glowing heart beating inside — the same burning heart of the painted roosters. The Caribbean baroque scroll becomes structure, the sphere is fruit, the little bird in the frame is the signature. Solar, encased like a relic: light can be sculpture, memory can give energy.
Naranja Vibrante

Orange is fruit, is fire, is sunset in Ocoa Bay. This version brings the palette of «Oranges of Friendship» into sculpture. The circle burns from within, the heart beats orange on orange, the yellow base is fertile ground. It vibrates: the LED light traces the acrylic and turns the vitrine into a domestic altar. The same rooster, now in ripe tropical color.

If yellow is sun and orange is fruit, white is moon, is bone, is peace. The purest version of the series: no color to distract, only form and light. The glowing heart becomes more intimate against white, the only warm color. The bird silhouette in the frame is shadow and spirit. By day a minimalist sculpture; by night a lantern, a moon captured in acrylic.

Four suns suspended from a single branch. Friendship as fruit that chooses to ripen at the same time, under the same leaves, sharing the same light. Here Ángela Vera reaches her most luminous synthesis: the scene is reduced to its essence — spheres of pure orange set against a Caribbean sky, held up by leaves she uses as architecture. The deep black on the underside of the leaves, not as shadow but as graphic plane, reveals her modernist training and gives the composition the force of stained glass. A painting about abundance and mutual care: the oranges do not fall, they hold one another. The tropics not as landscape, but as a state of mind — warm, generous, shared.

'Fishing in our little piece of peace, the Bay of Ocoa.' Three children in an orange boat fish in their little piece of peace. Below the waterline, the sea opens into orbs of memory —purple, red, green, blue— each holding a fish, a glimmer. The line does not go down for food, but to bring up stories. A tribute to a father who gave his children a piece of land that was, in truth, a piece of peace.

Art That Speaks
From the Soul
Ángela Vera is a visual artist based in Miami, FL whose work is distinguished by its intuitive, sensitive, and deeply personal approach. Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, her practice draws from expressionism, abstract impressionism, and especially pointillism — a technique she uses to create texture, movement, and depth through small, carefully applied brushstrokes. Her watercolor and pointillist work is entirely self-taught.
Her education includes studies in art history, interior design, and languages, as well as oil painting under Spanish master Alberto Pancorbo in Miami. She is currently deepening her practice through studies in world literature (University of Geneva), art and society (Duke University), and courses in contemporary art and photography (MoMA).
Her work is held in private collections across the United States, the Caribbean, and Europe. Active member of Artboxy and Miami Watercolor Society since 2025.
Artist Statement
Roots & Wings
"In the intimate silence of my being, memories flow. The scent of ripe mango, fresh limoncillo, and orange blossom awakens in me a symphony of sensations that lay dormant, gently, in some corner of the soul. Painting became my way of listening to myself — of understanding, of honoring."
My parents taught me that beauty is diversity, patience, and rootedness. What is essential lies in the simple, in the intimate, in the family home. I carry in my blood an ancient mixture of Corsican and Spanish, but my heart bloomed on the most beautiful island of the Caribbean: the Dominican Republic.
Every human being has a story within them that must be told, and it honors me to tell them without words. My impressionist pointillist technique in watercolor is not just a style — it is an act of patience, of surrender. Each dot is a breath, a necessary silence, a conversation with the invisible that invites you to look closely, to pause. I hope, with each stroke, to open a door to empathy, to connection. Sometimes a painting is enough for two souls to recognize each other without having exchanged a word.
